Why I Worship God
What would you say if someone asked,
"Why do you worship God?"
Would you pause and think of reasons,
Or shrug them off with a nod?
I could never answer fully,
For words cannot express
All the many blessings,
Which have brought me happiness.
I worship God to start with
Because He first loved me.
Enough to give His blessed Son,
To die on Calvary.
I worship Him because I know,
He has brought me peace of mind.
He has given me my faith back,
That people can be kind.
I worship God in laughter,
In the singing of a child.
In the beauty of His nature,
On a day so warm and mild.
In the beauty of a snowdrop.
As it gently falls to earth.
I worship God in reverence,
When I think of His Son's birth.
On the days when hearts are heavy,
When to Him I humbly go.
I can worship Him by praying,
For He answers prayers, I know.
Though my life may not be easy,
It was never said to be.
Still I take my burdens to Him,
For He will comfort me.
I worship God, the Father,
For the way is clear and light.
The beams of love are shining,
I no longer fear the night.
I long to spread the gospel,
To help others find the way.
For I worship God, the Father
And will serve Him, if I may.
