What Will Folks Remember

When you are grown
and gone your way,
And friends you know
are all scattered;
When they think back
and speak of you,
Will what they say of
you hurt or flatter?

When you move into
the house next door,
And people watch your actions;
Will they speak of the
love you've shown,
As one of your best
attractions?

As you move on down
life's highway,
Will the deeds
you always do
Cause people to say
to one another
How happy they are
knowing you?

When death comes bidding
you to come,
And your life on earth
must end;
When looking at your
now cold frame,
What will folks remember,
my friend?
