A ROSE FOR MOMMA
Momma loved roses.
She said, "When you give someone roses,
it means you love them very much."
Daddy must have loved Momma a lot,
because he used to bring her roses.
She'd get such a big smile on her face,
and she'd act real happy.
then she would give daddy a kiss
and go fix him an extra special supper.
Daddy cried when Momma went away.
I cried too,
and I didn't understand
until daddy told me momma went to live with Jesus.
"Will Jesus give Momma roses?" I asked.
"Yes" daddy said;
Jesus will give Momma a whole garden of roses
because he loves Momma too.
When I die and go to be with Jesus, daddy,
can I take Momma a rose?
Why are you crying daddy?
Because, I know Momma loved me so much
that when she left,
she left her most precious rose with me.
That's why when you were born,
she named you "Rose".
