Independence Day

The fourth of July, Independence Day.
A day to reflect-A day to pray.
A time to remember those brave pioneers,
Who struggled to build a new frontier.
The women too, who stood by their men,
Insufferable trials, striving to win.
The country grew strong and prospered too,
Because faith in God, always seen it through.
Brave hearted men, and even young boys,
Went off to fight in the nation's wars.
The mothers and wives stayed on their knees;
Fervently praying *God give us peace.*
*Old Glory* flew high, filling each heart with pride,
As grief filled our souls for the ones who had died.
They died for America, the land of the free;
They gave up their lives for you and for me.
Now, in these, called the Latter Days,
Things seem to be changing in so many ways.
Uprisings in government and in the states,
Crime in the streets, violence and hates.
Abuse of our children, neglect of the old,
Look to God's Word, where the answer is told.
Second Cronicles, Chapter seven, verse fourteen,
Listen America, and then take heed.
These precious words are all you will need.
You're called by God's name, so be humble and pray
Seek God's face, change your wicked ways.
Then, from heaven, God will hear
There'll be no more reason for you to fear.
*I'll forgive your sins and heal your land,*
Then once again America will stand.
AMERICAN THE BEAUTIFUL, land of the free,
GOD BLESS AMERICA; Oh! SAY CAN YOU SEE!
