DAD PLAYS A GOLDEN GUITAR
If God has a country western band,
With instruments of shiny gold;
Then Dad will play a golden guitar
And sing hymns , new and old.
Like, *When The Roll Is Called Up Yonder*
Or, *My God, How Great Thou Art*.
And , *Just A Closer Walk With Thee,*
How the memories stir my heart.
For when he used to sing them for us,
How his eyes with love would shine.
But, now he plays in Heaven,
Golden notes, pure and divine.
But Dad, I still can hear you;
As you sang and played for us.
Especially, *Just Beyond The Moon*,
Where you said you'd wait for me.
I'll be coming there to meet you,
And you'll play your golden guitar,
And together, once again we'll sing.
I pray that day will not be far.
