TO THE CAPTIVES

Tho those prison walls may hold you,
In that cold and friendless place
They can't keep out your Saviour,
With His soul redeeming grace.
You will find him deep within you,
If you search with all your heart
For as long as you will ask Him,
He will never more depart.
When your days are long and lonely,
And you feel no one may care;
If you call upon the Saviour,
You will find He's always there.
For He said He'd open prison doors,
And set the captives free.
He went down to the pit of Hell;
To get the only key.
He took it from ole satan,
And before demons made a show,
So He could come back to the world,
To let the captives go.
So even tho you may have sinned,
That's now all in the past.
For you've repented and been saved;
So you are free at last.
In the flesh, you are in prison,
But don't go by what you see.
Though man-made bonds may hold you,
Christ has set your Spirit free.
